Reannouncement

Won't you go and sign up for the Publication Database? It's up to 107 entries now. If you e-mail and let me know you signed up, I'll upgrade your account so you can add journals.

Hey Stephen (now that I got the name right, sorry!), what's the value of the Publications Database over, say, Duotrope? Am I mis-reading it in that it feels redundant? Just curious.

A fair question, Simmons. My database gathers information from a wide array of sources, including Duotrope, Jeffery Bahr's journal database, individual journal websites, Poet's Market, Dustbooks, etc. Duotrope, while it's an exhaustive listing of journals and an excellent source for response time and reading periods, has a lot less overall information on each journal than my database, and their information on whether a particular journal takes simultaneous submissions is wrong about 25% of the time (that is, they frequently say journals don't take sim subs when they do).
