Thanks, Murphy
Got the new TV delivered today. It had a crack in it. If it had just been a crack in the casing, I probably would have taken it, but the TV didn't seem to want to work when I turned it on, so I refused the shipment. When I contacted Overstock.com (it's a bitch-and-a-half just to get in touch with them, by the way), they were rather unhelpful. The best they could do was say that they'd send me an e-mail when the TV returned to the warehouse and would then issue a replacement. [Edited to take out a little bitterness, but Overstock.com still sucks right now as far as I'm concerned.]
I also managed to take a corner too sharply today and climb my car up over one of the piles of snow that's plentiful here right now. It wasn't particularly bad, but I was chagrined that I managed to do it in front of about 50 other cars.

SOrry to hear about your TV Steve. Hopefully they'll get it taken care of for you quickly.
Had I been there with you in the car I would have yelled, "SNOW DRIFT! SNOW DRIFT!" several times before you went over it.

Steve, hate to hear that. You're not the first person who's told me that Overstock.com is a pain in these situations.
I remember driving my first car, a 77 Ford, into a stop sign. I was 17, driving down Long Avenue, and talking to my buddy. When we approached the intersection, I applied the breaks and--nothing happened. To avoid the intersection, I steered toward the stop sign. We ran it over.
Luckly, no one saw us.
My vain reminisecne aside, I hope that you're well, otherwise.

You didn't mention it in our conversation, but: I'd be hell in snow when calling. Not that it works. Just that I'm mad for you.
Shawn: yeah, it wasn't close to as bad as the median. It was more like hitting a banked curb--no blown tire or leaping into the air. Not a big deal.
