MFA stuff
First of all, congratulations to Jeffery for having his poem on Poetry Daily. Appearing either there or Verse Daily is one of my publication goals for the coming year. I realize some people think it's gauche to have publication goals. Tough.
So I cut down the number of MFA programs I'm applying to to three: Washington University - St. Louis, Vanderbilt, and Wyoming. As I think I mentioned before, I want some sort of social network in the places I'm going in addition to a good program, and apparently I don't have that many social networks. I was also going to apply at Johns Hopkins (though I don't know that many people in Baltimore), but the higher cost of application and a bunch of annoying busy-work regulations about how you have to send materials pissed me off enough that I decided not to give them any money. I've gotten most of the necessary materials off, though there are a couple things I still need to do for the Wyoming and Vanderbilt applications, which aren't due until February 1. I'll post more updates when I hear back.

Good luck, Steven. I have a friend, Jason Burge, who's applying to Wyoming in hopes of doing fiction under Brad Watson.
What genre are you interested in? I've applied to the MFA, for creative non-fiction, down here at Arizona. But the deadline's passed: was Dec 1. Good luck!
