Just got back from a reading in Denver. It was my pleasure to meet fellow blogger Simmons Buntin and enjoy a high-quality reading from him and Colorado Springs poet Lois Hayna at the Tattered Cover bookstore, where I subsequently blew about $60 on literary journals. A nice crowd showed up for it (the reading, not the journal-buying). Also, my cruise control went out. Crap.

I also got my official GRE scores today. I only got a 5.5 on the analytical writing portion, which was a slight disappointment, but oh well. Off to the grad schools they go.

Got a rejection from Free Lunch today, which was sort of a treat in itself. I had never sent work there before, but editor Ron Offen wrote a really nice note about what he liked in the poems and what he might like to see from me in the future, plus wrote notes on the poems themselves, plus suggested a journal exchange with The Eleventh Muse.

I have stuff to do before I go to bed. I promise to go back and hit at least some of those topics I mentioned a few posts down, though.

Comments:
Thanks for your response Steve...oh, and concerning the GRE, the essays are looked upon like a penis: it's the size that counts. (This from a recent 5.5er - must not have been long enough).

Good to meet you Steven, as well. Glad you could make it up from Colorado Springs, though I'm sorry to hear about your cruise control. I feared mine had gone during 12-hour the drive up from Tucson the day before, but fortunately it's only the light on the dashboard that's a little skittish.
