This Blog Was Made for Titling

I'm updating the poetry "Recommended Reading" section a little bit, and I've added a couple more poems to the ongoing "Best of . . ." feature.

"The Girl Who Became a Tom Waits Song" by Annalynn Hammond (DIAGRAM)
"You Can See How the Waves" by Michael Milligan (AGNI)

I'm also adding a "classic" poems section (many of which are contemporary, but whose original journal publication I cannot easily find). It also contains, for the (relatively) many of you who find this site via Google, a link to the text of T. R. Hummer's "Where You Go When She Sleeps."

Finally, I've updated Aaron Anstett's page and am working on a Jake York page. And now off to actually do something with my poetry.

Comments:
I love that TR Hummer poem ;)

I liked both these poems a lot, Steve. Thanks for the links.

I've always wanted to make a poem of Tom Waits. Looks like Annalynn has beaten me to it.

The final line of the Hummer poem is as perfect as they get.

My bloglines shows a little nip at Ron S, but I can't find it on your blog. :-)

Yes, someone mentioned the Hummer poem in a "poetry mix tape" thread way back, and so now people keep finding my site looking for it--more so than any other single poem by far. Various Mark Jarman poems are up there, but no one poem gets searched as much.

And yeah, I said something snarky about Ron's blog and then thought better of it. The gist of it will, however, be incorporated into something a little bit bigger I'm going to write after Christmas. :-)

Heh. Actually I meant the Mulligan poem, not Hummer at all in my comment above. Damn. Blame Christmas stress.

I like your blog, Steve. Good stuff.
