Full Contact Poker
I recently signed up to play at Full Contact Poker, Daniel Negreanu's site. Tonight, in my first ever tournament there, I won $58 for a $5 buy-in. Made one horrendous misplay. Otherwise, did pretty well...

I was so pot-invested in a hand that when I guy with a much smaller chip stack than mine went all-in, the pot odds were so good that I should have called regardless of what two cards I had (and I did have some outs). Knowing he was ahead of me at the time he went all-in, I folded.
I remembered I also made a really dumb play raising with pocket 4's when there were callers behind me. Ah well, live and think a little more.
steven, how do i get involved in this online poker stuff? do i have to be any good? are there more amateur slots? i'm always looking for another bad habit. :)
Jenni:
There are a lot of poker sites that do a pretty good job of easing beginners into things, with tables where you can play with fake money to help you learn without losing the real stuff. I'd recommend reading a few tutorials on Texas Hold 'Em first before you even get to that stage. It's fun, and if you decide to play for real money, there are low-stakes tables at most of the sites. I played on PokerStars for a long time, but I just switched to Full Contact Poker.

I've been playing the party poker. I'm not very good. In fact, I suck! I just keep getting bad hands. I don't know that i have the luck for poker. Maybe my bad luck is lucky for me (and my savings account).
