Drafty Drafterson

Comments:
I dig this like a garden, brother man.

Glad you like it. I'm worried that the softball metaphor may be a little out of left field (so to speak).

Excellent. And I see I'm not the only one with poker on the brain. My annual holiday poem, usually something with one foot in the schmaltz, this year is titled "Poker With The Ghost of Christmas Past".

I think the softball image works ('course, I've played the game for 20 years), it's just a little lighter than the surround. I LOVE the phrase "one fuzz peachier". A great line. What effect are you going for with the structure?

The structure (which I've since shifted so the two columns are much closer together) is about the gap between two things, be it between reality and what's represented by a bluff, or the gap between a big chip-stack and a small one, or the gap between two opponents in a shootout, etc.

Wow. A Texas hold 'em rant. With a goodly sprinkle of Val Kilmer movie lines. Add a Nickelback line, a dash of NASCAR, and who knows? This time next year, you might have your own GAP commercial.

You missed Beavis & Butthead and Conan the Barbarian.

Gee! I'm only batting .250 (1 out of 4). Still I enjoyed the read.
