Eventful
There was a lovely reading at Colorado College this evening by Jamaican poet Lorna Goodison. It was a fun event. Next week on Thursday will be a reading by Mark Jarman, my advisor in college. 7 PM in McHugh Commons. Come one come all.

Jeez, if you'd have posted this list Monday I might have saved myself some stamps. With credentials such as this list has, next issue will be amazing.
By the way, have you signed up for PokerStars Bloggers-only tournament yet? That Poker For Poets tourney can't be far away now!

Hey I paypaled you for the magazine just now.
OK did I hear about a poets poker tournament? Details please. :)

Never give up, David. If I refused to send places based on the number of big names, I would lose about 90% of the submissions I have out right now--and we've got room for unknowns at the Muse. :-)
I wasn't aware of the Bloggers poker tournament. Where's the info? And count me in for Poets Poker...

Hey, what do you know -- Lorna Goodison was my undergrad creative writing manuscript advisor. It was hearing her read her work that led me to ask her to advise... she's a great reader.
Always nice to hear encouragement from an editor!
Blogger's tourney info is here: http://www.pokerstars.com/blog_tournament/.
I don't see a way to create tournaments at PokerStars, but I'm pretty sure PokerRoom.com lets you. I wonder how many versifiers would ante up....

Matthew:
I enjoyed the reading a lot. Once she was introduced, she just got up there and launched right into a poem, which was great, and which pretty well served as her own introduction. She was fun, and the accent works very well too.
