I'm Cranky

I just got e-mail notification that my poem "The Bait-Cutters" has been accepted by Cranky. This lovely young journal out of Washington publishes strong work, and its most recent issue contained a poem by Jeannine, whom I seem to be following around in journals.

Congratulations to Sandra McNew, a member of my alternating-Thursdays local workshop, who just won the Columbine Poets of Colorado statewide first-book chapbook contest. Of course, I was among the people she beat, so here's a little foot-stomp too.

Comments:
congrats

Hey Steve,
Congrats on the Cranky acceptance! They are a cool journal. If you can, you should talk to Amber about coming out and visiting Seattle for the Cranky reading when the issue comes out - usually 80-100 people show up for it, it's always a lot of fun!

Jilly, thank you. Jeannine, I might try to do that, though my travel funds and time are a little limited right now.

Very cool. Congrats Steven! Let me know when the issue is out so i can order a copy.

I think it's going to be in issue 6, out in September or thereabouts.

Hey, Steve, mucho congrats! I sent them some work a few weeks ago. I'm going to cross my fingers on the possibility of our being in the same journal.

Steve

Belated thanks, Steve. Should have answered this earlier.

Yeah, I'm finding more and more that I'm getting into journals alongside people I've been admiring. It's cool. I believe Aaron Anstett is going to be in the same issue of Cranky as I am, which will be the first time we've both been in the same edition of something.

Steven,

Congrats! That's a favorite journal of mine. I'll look for your poem when the next issue arrives.

Take care,
Kelli
